Tim Herbert

Tim Herbert

Chairman of the Board

Tim’s passion for Enterra began over 20 years ago while working in the research group within Medtronic. Tim was responsible for setting up many of the first clinical sites using Enterra Therapy, and through that experience he saw firsthand the life changing impact that Enterra can have on patients dealing with gastroparesis. Since 2007, Tim has led Inspire Medical Systems, Inc. as President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to founding Inspire, Tim spent 11 years at Medtronic, a medical equipment development company, where he held management positions in product development, clinical research, sales, marketing, and healthcare reimbursement. Tim holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from North Dakota State University and an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas.

Peter Sommerness

Chief Executive Officer

Peter joined Enterra Medical as CEO in February of 2022. Prior to joining Enterra Medical, Peter led Respicardia as President and CEO for four years. Respicardia, founded in 2006 and acquired by ZOLL Medical in 2021, is a leader in therapeutic, neurostimulation technologies that address the unmet needs of people with Central Sleep Apnea (CSA). Prior to leading Respicardia, Peter was a Partner in the healthcare practice of McKinsey & Company, a global strategy consulting firm. Peter has over 20 years of experience in the active medical device space, including over 12 years of operating experience at Guidant Corporation and Boston Scientific – across cardiac rhythm management (CRM) and cardiac electrophysiology (EP). Peter held leadership roles in field sales, market development, upstream marketing and portfolio, including leading the expansion of Boston Scientific’s Cardiac Electrophysiology business as VP and General Manager. Peter holds B.A., B.E. and M.E. degrees in Engineering from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. with high honors from the University of Chicago.

Mark Wisniewski

Chief Financial Officer

From 2018 to 2022, Mark worked at FARAPULSE, Inc., a start-up that commercialized the world’s first Pulsed Field Ablation system for cardiac ablation, as Vice President of Commercial Development and Business Operations and CFO. FARAPULSE was acquired by Boston Scientific in 2021. Prior to joining FARAPULSE, Mark spent 20 years at Guidant and Boston Scientific with roles in quality, manufacturing, marketing, finance, strategy, and corporate development, where he was responsible for multiple investments and acquisitions. Mark has earned degrees in Chemistry at St. Olaf College, Chemical Engineering at Washington University, and Business Administration at the University of Minnesota.

John Swoyer

Chief Technology Officer

John brings more than 35 years of experience developing and commercializing new therapies and products within the implantable medical device industry. Prior to joining Enterra Medical, he was the Vice President of Engineering for contract design and manufacturing company Nextern, leading development efforts for wearable, at-home, and implantable products. A prolific inventor with over 80 issued U.S. Patents, including numerous patents for new gastroenterology and urology devices, he has held top leadership roles in engineering, operations and product development at Nuvectra and Greatbatch Medical (Integer). John has a Master of Science (MS) in Technology Management from the University of St. Thomas School of Engineering.

Bernard Bosley

Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Quality

Bernie has over 30 years of experience in Regulatory Affairs, Quality Systems, Risk Management, and Reliability for both well-established and early-stage medical device companies. For the past 14 years, he served as Regulatory and Quality consultant to Inspire Medical and Cirtec Medical. His prior experience includes 11 years within Medtronic’s neuromodulation, cardiac rhythm management, and gastroenterology / urology divisions and serving as Executive Director of Regulatory and Clinical Affairs at Nuvectra Corporation. Bernie is a licensed professional engineer in the State of Minnesota with a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology. He teaches Risk Management at the University of Minnesota Institute of Technology Graduate School and University of St. Thomas Undergraduate and Graduate School.

Nathan Crouch

Nathan Crouch

Vice President, Sales

Prior to being named the Vice President of Sales at Enterra Medical, Nathan spent 15 years at Medtronic in a variety of sales, marketing, and leadership roles. For the past three years, Nathan served as National Sales Manager for Enterra Therapy inside of Medtronic’s Pelvic Health and Gastric Therapies division. Previously, Nathan worked with Medtronic’s InterStim Therapy product portfolio where he built and led high performing sales teams based throughout the Mid-South. Nathan holds Bachelor of Arts Degrees in both International Business and French from Mississippi State University.

Jenny Rogers

Vice President, Marketing

Jenny has over 13 years of medical device marketing experience in market development, downstream product management, and integrated marketing communications. Prior to joining Enterra Medical, she focused on global marketing, product management, strategic planning and channel strategies in the Rhythm Management and Interventional Cardiology divisions at Boston Scientific. She spent the last 7 years helping to develop the market for a new therapy, driving brand strategy and developing a company-first direct to consumer television campaign. Jenny has an M.B.A in marketing and entrepreneurship from Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
